Front Wheel Clearance

If you're thinking about putting Rootes 13 inch wheels on a Minx/Gazelle Series I to IIIC (with drum front brakes), the answer is :
It won't work.
The photos below show a Minx Series IIIA front suspension, removed from the car, so the coil springs are at full extension.

The later Minx/Gazelle 13" wheel can be mounted, and it props up a stationary vehicle.  However, the upper swivel assembly blocks the path of wheel weights (which could be clamped to the inside of the rim) and scrapes the tyre sidewall when the steering is turned.

The correct 15" wheel has plenty of clearance in both places.
